This week at Wise Owls our Discovery Club will cool down with a variety of water themed activities, from the water bucket challenge, dart water balloons, a water balloon fight, swimming and time by the river, water will be a big feature in all of our activities this week.
Monday 5 August
We will dive into the week with the water bucket challenge and some marble cardboard painting. We will venture out to visit some furry friends at the local Pets at Home where we will feed the guinea pigs and rabbits, followed by some fun in the park playing sport and tag on the playground. We will get soaked with a water balloon fight (don’t forget a change of clothes) and we will cook fish shaped pizza bread and make crystals.
Tuesday 6 August
We are off to Marlow by train today where we will enjoy some riverside activities, feed the ducks and play in the new Marlow Park playground. We will make boats with junk modelling and do a very cool water pistol painting. We will enjoy making some Jaffa cake oysters too!
Wednesday 7 August
We will enjoy a visit by Basil Farm today with the opportunity to pat and cuddle some adorable farm animals. We will also play the dart water balloon game and cool down with some ice painting. We will make fruit smoothies and get wet in a fun splashy water game with prizes for the winner. There will be the usual trip to the local park for group activities.
Thursday 8 August
Bring your togs because we are going swimming today to Braywick Leisure Centre followed by a picnic in the beautiful Braywick Nature Reserve where will build dens and climb trees. We will also have a paddling pool back at club to splash about in, so bring a change of clothes. We will make water paintings and starfish shortbread too.
Friday 9 August
Today we make beach themed cupcakes, try our hand at some tape resist paintings, get glitter tattoos and play with aqua beads. We will play some musical games where the winner gets a prize. There will be string art painting and collage making too. We will head out for a walk to Braywick Nature Reserve for group activities.
Each day, Discovery children have the freedom to take part in a variety of sport and physical activities like basketball, football, skipping, bouldering and bench ball, as well as enjoy a range of free-time activities including board games, colouring in, Lego competitions, group games, and a wide selection of arts and crafts materials to choose from and enjoy at their own leisure. We have a pool table and a table football table, and a chill out zone for those just wanting to read books or magazines, do some scrapbooking or make something out of the wide range of materials available.
Please note: While we do plan to visit the park every day, this is weather dependent.
