Discover, Challenge, Grow Week 3

4-8 August

This week is all about stepping outside your comfort zone and trying new things! Whether it’s tackling a tricky skill, unleashing creativity, or exploring new environments, each day invites you to challenge yourself, discover hidden talents, and make new friends along the way. Adventure awaits at every turn! 🌟

Monday 4 August

We’ll start the week by baking a delicious lemon drizzle cake to enjoy for lunch pudding — a sweet way to get our hands busy in the kitchen 🍰. After morning registration and safety checks, we’ll head out to Oaken Grove Park for fresh air and outdoor play. Back at base, it’s time to get arty with initials painting — using masking tape to create striking patterns on black card, revealing cool designs once the tape is peeled away 🎨. The afternoon is packed with gym equipment challenges, sports on the field, and forest exploration before a special Maidenhead United football session ⚽. We’ll finish with water, sand, and mud play — and a lively group game of Football.

Tuesday 5 August

We will kickstart the day with a game of bench ball before heading off on an all day outing. Today we’re off to the movies with a trip to the cinema to see the latest children’s film. Afterwards, we’ll enjoy a picnic lunch at a nearby park. The afternoon is all about group games, perfect for building teamwork and having fun together.

Wednesday 6 August

Wednesday is a day full of creativity and outdoor fun! After our morning register and safety check, we’ll take a walk over to Norden Farm, where we bring the beach to you, along with a fantastic range of art and craft workshops 🎨✂️. After soaking up all that creative inspiration, we’ll head to Punt Hill Park for a picnic lunch surrounded by nature 🌳🍎. The afternoon brings a chance to test your teamwork and sports skills with a friendly game of Cricket — a classic summer sport that’s great fun whether you’re a seasoned player or trying it for the first time! This day is all about exploring your creativity and enjoying the great out

Thursday 7 August

Get ready to get soaked during outdoor water play — don’t forget an extra set of clothes for this splashy session! 💦 We’ll bake milk cake for lunch pudding to keep energy levels high 🍰. The highlight of the day? An inspiring animation workshop where you’ll learn to bring your drawings to life — an exciting chance to discover new creative skills and maybe find a new passion! The afternoon is filled with gym equipment, sports games, forest play, and more water and mud fun. We’ll close with a team game of Rounders to keep the energy high and spirits soaring.

Friday 8 August

It’s time to bring your bike or scooter and hit the outdoor play areas for a day full of speedy fun 🚲🛴! After morning routines and a snack, we’ll enjoy riding, then head to Oaken Grove Park for lunch and fresh air. The afternoon offers a mix of gym challenges, sports on the field, forest exploring, and creative den building. You’ll also get crafty making your own pompom keyrings — a perfect personalised souvenir 🎀. Of course, there’s plenty of mud, water, and sand play to keep the fun messy and wild. We’ll wrap up with our final group game of the week — a fast-paced, exciting match of Bench Ball to send everyone off with big smiles. Let’s go! 🚀

Each day, Discovery children have the freedom to take part in a variety of sport and physical activities like basketball, football, skipping, bouldering and bench ball, as well as enjoy a range of free-time activities including board games, colouring in, Lego competitions, group games, and a wide selection of arts and crafts materials to choose from and enjoy at their own leisure. We have a pool table and a table football table, and a chill out zone for those just wanting to read books or magazines, do some scrapbooking or make something out of the wide range of materials available.

Please note: While we do plan to visit the park every day, this is weather dependent.
