27th – 31st AUGUST

🎃 Halloween Week – Discovery Club (Ages 7–14) 👻

📅 Monday 27th – Friday 31st October 2025
📍 Courthouse School & beyond – including Oaken Grove Park & local adventures

This half term, older children will dive into a week of spooky fun, team challenges, creative projects and exciting outings. Each day blends structured activities with freedom to explore, play and make new friends.

Expect high-energy group games, problem-solving challenges, outdoor adventures and just the right amount of Halloween mischief! We’ll also head out to Oaken Grove Park for group games and picnics, and enjoy special trips for an unforgettable Halloween week.

As well as the thoughtfully planned timetable of activities below, each day children can take part in a variety of sports and physical activities like basketball, football, skipping, bouldering and bench ball. They will enjoy a wide selection of arts and crafts materials, dive into free play with board games, colouring, Lego competitions, group games, dress-ups, junk modelling and more.

Monday 27 October

The week begins with a day of spooky fun and creativity. Children will bake delicious autumn leaf shortbread biscuits before testing their courage in the mysterious “What’s in the spooky box?” challenge. Lively energy fills the day with a dodgeball tournament and colourful fun at the paint station, while potion making and charm bracelet crafting bring a touch of witchy magic. Traditional autumn fun returns with an apple bobbing competition, and the afternoon rounds off with a series of challenges—guessing the funky bottles, creating skittles for a game of “Boo’ling,” and ending in high spirits with exciting Benchball battles.

Tuesday 28 October

Tuesday kicks off with giggles and teamwork during the Zombie Balloon Walk, followed by a junk-modelling activity to spark the imagination. A creative free art station keeps the energy flowing indoors, alongside a lively benchball challenge. The highlight of the day is a trip to the Odeon in Maidenhead, where children will enjoy the latest children’s film before heading to Grenfell Park for a picnic in the fresh air. The afternoon closes with a mix of sports, indoor soft ball games, and group challenges designed to keep everyone moving and laughing.

Wednesday 29 October

Midweek brings a blend of crafts, building, and tasty treats. Children will get hands-on with salt dough ornaments and spooky acrylic jars before teaming up for Lego and Knex building challenges—or even joining forces for large-scale fort building. Outdoors, bikes and scooters take centre stage for some active fun, and back indoors little chefs will whip up mummy pastry sausages and make pom-pom keyrings. The afternoon is packed with creativity as groups design and build their own 3D haunted houses, while games like Pumpkin Tic-Tac-Toe, doughnut-on-a-string, dodgeball, and party favourites keep the laughter rolling until the day’s end.

Thursday 30 October

Thursday is all about teamwork, kindness, and a sprinkle of spooky excitement. The children will work together to choose a charity and plan their very own fundraiser, designing posters and mini envelopes before shopping for ingredients to bake cakes. These treats will later be sold at an afternoon bake sale to raise money for their chosen cause. After a well-earned picnic and playtime at Oaken Grove Park, the day continues with a guess-the-sweets jar challenge, a spooky lucky dip, and plenty of energetic games including dodgeball, outdoor fun, and whiteboard puzzles to end on a high.

Friday 31 October

The week concludes with a spectacular Halloween celebration. Everyone is invited to dress up in their spookiest costumes, with prizes waiting for the most creative looks. The day is filled with hands-on fun—making spooky pizzas, carving pumpkins, and diving into the glitter tattoos, nail bar, and slime station. Treats abound with popcorn spooky hands and an in-house Trick or Treat experience, while disco-style music and movement bring a lively party atmosphere. The grand finale features outdoor sports, classic party games, and a playful round of Hangman to close out the week in true Halloween style.
