After probation you can apply to join Wise Owls Qualifications programme to become a Level 3 Early Years Educator.
We support Millie’s Mark and wish all our staff to be paediatric first aid trained. You will undertake this training as soon as possible after 6-months service with us, as one target from your 1:1 performance review.
The role of the Nursery Manager is to ensure all children attending Wise Owls Childcare Nurseries receive high quality care, are kept safe and are provided with planned and stimulating play experiences which meet their individual needs and support all aspects of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum. Managers are required to deliver effective management of the nursery and ensure the nursery complies with all relevant legislation, plus local authority and OFSTED requirements. As a nursery manager you must promote and maintain the Wise Owls Childcare reputation for providing exemplary care.
The role of the Deputy Manager is to assist the Nursery Manager to provide professional leadership and management of the nursery and to help ensure that all children receive the highest standards of care and education. You are expected to lead and always maintain the safeguarding of children in the nursery by ensuring that risk assessments have been adequately carried out. As a deputy manager you must promote and maintain the Wise Owls Childcare reputation for providing exemplary care.
As a room leader you would be responsible for the overall running of your assigned room in the nursery. This role includes delivering and maintaining high quality care that stimulates children and aids each child’s personal development. At this level, you will be expected to support the development of other staff through good leadership and by setting a positive example. You will need to mentor your team members and your apprentices so that they can meet their own developmental goals.
At this level you will plan and supervise engaging and stimulating adult led play-based activities based around the needs and interests of each individual child in line with the EYFS. You will support children to develop across all seven areas of the EYFS and in line with our Wise Owls Curriculum. It will be your role to observe each child and shape their learning experience to reflect their observations and interests. You will be asked to support the development of other staff through good leadership and setting a positive example
A Level 2 qualification allows you to work with children under supervision. At this level, you will interact directly with children each day supporting the planning and delivery of adult-led play-based learning activities within one of our nurseries. You will work as part of a professional team ensuring the welfare and care for children under the guidance and supervision of an Early Years Educator or other suitably qualified professional.
You will work with childcare under supervision to support the delivery of planned educational activities. You will be required to uphold health and safety standards, liaise with parents, and provide care and nurture for all children in the nursery. As an assistant you will carry out the duties within the nursery that your room leader requires, for example, preparing meals and snacks, changing nappies, assisting in activities and so on.
